Turner Entertainment Ad Sales and Marketing is unveiling a multi-network promotion to drive additional awareness for the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures theatrical "TRON:  Legacy," in theatres on Dec. 17, 2010.

The featured content will air in such popular programming as Family Guy on TBS, a Rizzoli and Isles marathon on TNT, and It Only Hurts When I Laugh on truTV, along with theatricals like 10,000 B.C. and Fred Claus. The Family Guy line-up includes the "One if by Clam, Two if by Sea" episode, which features "TRON" in the storyline.

"We have the creative and reach capabilities across these three distinctly branded networks to align strategically with a mega holiday release like TRON:  Legacy  through a high-profile roadblock format," said Dan Riess, senior vice president, Turner Entertainment Promotions and Marketing.  "This promotion is custom-designed with their theatrical in mind, and the audience they are looking to reach."

Through a roadblock format, the custom content will air within a specific time slot across all three networks throughout the week, creating a more expansive promotional message for the film's release date.   The promotion includes five special 60-second looks at the "TRON: Legacy," each airing multiple times and, in some instances, including exclusive content. On Monday, Dec. 6, the TRON:  Legacy tune-in and special look content will air from 8-8:30 p.m. during breaks from the shows The Office on TBS, a Rizzoli & Isles marathon on TNT and All Worked Up on truTV.  The next day, from 9-10 p.m., the content will air within Family Guy on TBS, the theatrical 10,000 B.C. on TNT and a Party Heat special on truTV. That night's Family Guy lineup will feature the "One if by Clam, Two if by Sea" episode, which includes "TRON" in the storyline.  Then on Wednesday night, from 8-9 p.m., Tyler Perry's House of Payne on TBS, Bones on TNT and Ma's Roadhouse on truTV will all host the special tune-in messaging and special look content during breaks. Thursday's lineup from 10-10:30 p.m. features Family Guy  on TBS and It Only Hurts When I Laugh on truTV. The promotional week will conclude on Friday, Dec. 9, within the TBS network television premiere of Fred Claus from 8-10:30 p.m.

In addition, truTV developed a custom REEL music vignette for TRON:  Legacy featuring an interview with one of the stars from the film Olivia Wilde discussing the soundtrack by Daft Punk.  The content piece highlighting the music by Daft Punk will run on the network Dec. 3-9.

TRON: Legacy is a 3D action-packed adventure set in a digital world unlike anything captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn (Oscar® and Golden Globe® winner Jeff Bridges), a man once known as the world's leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the abandoned Flynn's Arcade-that could have only come from his father-he finds himself pulled into a world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-or-death journey across a visually stunning universe-created by Kevin Himself-which has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons and landscapes, and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

TRON: Legacy is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver and Steven Lisberger. The story is by Edward Kitsis & Adam Horowitz and Brian Klugman & Lee Sternthal, and the screenplay is by Edward Kitsis & Adam Horowitz, based on characters created by Steven Lisberger and Bonnie MacBird. Presented in Disney Digital 3D™, Real D 3D and IMAX 3D and scored by Grammy Award-winning electronic music duo Daft Punk, "TRON: Legacy" hits theaters on December 17, 2010.
