A&E Announces New Series PSYCHIC KIDS: CHILDREN OF THE PARANORMAL - Premieres June 16th

May 20, 2008 - 9:08:07 AM

Premieres: June 16 at 10pm/2am ET and PT

Your child comes to you and says, "I see dead people." What do you do with that information? Many parents are scared and isolated with problems that they often keep quiet because of what people would think if they spoke about their children's paranormal abilities. Now, thanks to Medium Chip Coffey and renown psychologist and Columbia University professor, Dr. Lisa Miller, help is on the way.

In this new A&E series, PSYCHIC KIDS: CHILDREN OF THE PARANORMAL, Medium Chip Coffey uses both his abilities in the paranormal and his masters degree in psychology as he deals with children who are showing signs of possessing psychic and medium abilities. Chip purpose is to help the child with the supernatural phenomenon he or she is experiencing: how to manage this lifelong "gift" and the burdens that sometimes go along with the paranormal abilities. Dr. Lisa Miller offers credibility that validates the child's mental health, and helps the children and families deal with the inter-family conflict they may be experiencing. Starting by illuminating the child's problem, Chip Coffey, Dr. Miller and other experts work with the child to strengthen their psychic abilities and help deal with any negative or troubling paranormal activity the child might be experiencing.

In this premier episode of PSYCHIC KIDS: CHILDREN OF THE PARANORMAL, Chip and Lisa visit Joel, an isolated 14-year-old boy who sees spirits of people and animals on his remote California ranch. Joel has never told anyone other than his mother about his experiences - he is terrified and desperately wants to know why these things are happening to him. To help Joel, Chip and Lisa introduce him to two siblings and their parents: Morgan, a 10-year-old girl who has premonitions of natural disasters; and her brother Brad, a 12-year-old who can feel the pain of spirits. Together, the three kids must learn to face their fears when Chip takes them on a ghost hunt on a haunted ranch.
