Series Premiere Of PSYCHIC KIDS: CHILDREN OF THE PARANORMAL Scares Up 1.7 Million Viewers
A&E enjoyed two strong showings on Monday night beginning with the season five premiere of A&E's hit Real-Life series "Intervention" at 9:00PM ET/PT which netted the largest audience ever for a season premiere in the five season history of the series among adults 18-49, 25-54, total viewers and household rating. The episode averaged a 1.7 HH rating, 1.5 million adults 18-49, 1.4 million adults 25-54 and 2.1 million total viewers for the hour. Then, at 10PM the network had its best summertime series launch since 2006 with "Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal."
"Intervention" grew in all key demos from the Season 4 premiere episode, increasing 24% in total viewers (1.7 million to 2.1 million), 25% in adults 18-49 (1.2 million to 1.5 million), 27% in adults 25-54 (1.1 million to 1.4 million) and 21% in household rating (1.4 rating to a 1.7 rating) - making the season 5 premiere the most watched season premiere in series history among key demos, total viewers and households as well as the most watched original program (excluding sports) on cable in for the night among adults 18-49 and 25-54.
In addition, the series premiere of "Psychic Kids" at 10PM ET/PT was A&E's most successful summertime series launch since "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" in August 2006. "Psychic Kids" had a 1.3 HH rating, 1.1 millions adults 18-49, 1.1 million adults 25-54 and 1.7 million total viewers. "Psychic Kids" was the number one original program (excluding sports) in its timeslot.
