the "Ultimate Volunteer" Contest as Part of EIF's Campaign

The week of October 19, ABC Daytime and SOAPnet programming will be supporting the Entertainment Industry Foundation's "iParticipate" initiative to mobilize the entire entertainment community around a ground-breaking, multi-year plan designed to inspire a new era of service, promoting a new way of thinking about service and to motivate millions more Americans to volunteer regularly. ABC Daytime will incorporate the theme of volunteerism across all three daytime dramas ("All My Children," "One Life to Live" and "General Hospital") and SOAPnet will air PSAs throughout the week. "The View" is currently searching for the "Ultimate Volunteer," with the winner being announced that week. The winner will receive one million Starpoints from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, plus $10,000 spending cash.

The "iParticipate" campaign culminates with the "Voluntary Viewing Marathon," airing SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH 8AM-3PM on SOAPnet. Episodes from "The O.C.," "One Tree Hill" and "Beverly Hills, 90210" will have volunteer/"paying it forward" themes.

12PM - Beverly Hills 90210 Episode #1992-026 - "Play It Again, David" - Brandon plays big brother to a boy from the youth center where Andrea volunteers.

1PM - Beverly Hills 90210 Episode # 1993-064 -- "The Kindness of Strangers" - Brandon befriends a homeless Gulf War vet and brings him home for Thanksgiving dinner.

2PM - Beverly Hills 90210 Episode #1997-182 -- "If I Had a Hammer" - The gang works with Habitat for Humanity to build a house for Willie, who works at the Peach Pit.
