Animal Planet's FATAL ATTRACTIONS Lands Series Order And Rolls Out New Episodes Beginning This November
This past March, Animal Planet's limited series FATAL ATTRACTIONS grabbed viewers by the throat with the harrowing stories of people who choose to live with exotic animals instead of more traditional pets. This limited series ranked as Animal Planet's most-watched telecast in the first quarter of 2010. Each of the three premieres drew in more than a million viewers with more than 4.6 unique viewers throughout its miniseries run.
Now, Animal Planet is expanding FATAL ATTRACTIONS with a series order of 10 additional hour-long episodes slated to roll out November 2010. The series will continue to explore the disturbing psychology of individuals who think they are immune to the deadly dangers of sharing their homes with wild animals, such as wolves, bears and tigers. New episodes this November take FATAL ATTRACTIONS to a new level, telling cautionary tales of people who live with exotic animals and who don't think they are at risk to the dire consequences. Some individuals even have taken these innately wild animals and raised them in tight, small urban spaces - a complete 180 degrees from where they should be.
"There are all sorts of different bonds people feel with the animals that share our world,"says Marjorie Kaplan, president and general manager of Animal Planet. "FATAL ATTRACTIONS grabs viewer interest because of our fascination with why some people willingly risk their safety - their lives - to live side by side with wildlife. Along with investigating this compulsion, FATAL ATTRACTIONS reveals what it takes to raise wild animals and warns viewers of the dire consequences."
