"Retired at 35" Honored With Nomination For Outstanding Cinematography For A Multi-Camera Series

Betty White scored a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series for her role on TV Land's "Hot in Cleveland" for the upcoming 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, it was announced today by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. White portrays Elka Ostrovsky on "Hot in Cleveland," the network's critically-acclaimed hit also starring beloved actresses Valerie Bertinelli ("One Day at a Time"), Jane Leeves ("Frasier") and Wendie Malick ("Just Shoot Me").  In addition to Betty White's nomination, "Hot in Cleveland" received a nomination for Outstanding Art Direction For A Multi-Camera Series and TV Land's second original sitcom, "Retired at 35," also received a nod for Outstanding Cinematography for a Multi-Camera Series.

"It's a dream come true for all of us to be working with an icon like Betty White every single day on 'Hot in Cleveland,'" said Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land. "We pinch ourselves that we have the honor to work with her as well as the rest of the talented cast. The additional nominations for our original sitcoms 'Hot' and 'Retired at 35' make this day even more exciting."
"I am going to sit here in shock and celebrate that I am working with three wonderful women - Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick," added Betty White.

TV Land's nominations include:
* Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, Betty White, "Hot in Cleveland"

* Outstanding Art Direction For A Multi-Camera Series, "Hot in Cleveland" - "Sisterhood Of The Traveling SPANX©,"  "I Love Lucci: Part Two," "LeBron Is Le Gone," TV Land, Hudson Street Productions, Michael Andrew Hynes, Production Designer Maralee Zediker, Set Decorator

* Outstanding Cinematography For A Multi-Camera Series for "Retired At 35" - "Rocket Man," TV Land, TV Land Productions, Donald A. Morgan, ASC, Director of Photography

"Hot in Cleveland" revolves around three fabulous best friends from LA - novelist Melanie Moretti (Valerie Bertinelli), eye-brow archer to the stars Joy Scroggs (Jane Leeves) and former soap star Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick) - who find their lives changed forever when their plane, headed for Paris, makes an unexpected landing.  When the friends discover that life is better in Cleveland, they decide to stay.  Starting over together, they rent a house that happens to come with a very opinionated caretaker, Elka Ostrovsky (Betty White).
"Hot in Cleveland" is executive produced by Emmy Award-winner Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner of Hazy Mills Productions and is helmed by Emmy Award-winning Suzanne Martin ("Frasier," "Ellen") serving as executive producer, show runner and writer.  Lynda Obst also serves as executive producer, and Larry W. Jones and Keith Cox are executive producers for TV Land.  "Hot in Cleveland" is filmed in front of a live studio audience and is currently seen around the world in over 165 countries.

"Retired at 35," which was TV Land's second foray into original sitcoms, follows a disillusioned Manhattan businessman (Johnathan McClain) who decides to leave the New York City rat race and retire to Florida...30 years early!  He ends up moving into his parents' (George Segal and Jessica Walter) condo to reconnect with them, reevaluate his life and live the sometime elusive dream of early retirement that so many are working toward.   Filmed in front of a live studio audience, the series premiered in January 2011 and was recently renewed for a second season.  "Retired at 35" is written by Chris Case ("Reba," "Spin City") and executive produced by Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis.

The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards will be held at NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 18, on FOX.
