Brad Faxon Joins NBC Sports' Golf Team
ROY ON FAXON: "Brad Faxon possesses invaluable experience that I'm confident he will articulate to our viewers. As an active player and a member of the PGA TOUR Policy Board, he has inside-the-ropes and inside-the-locker room knowledge of current players plus a broader understanding of the game."
Faxon, who has won nearly $18 million on tour and is regarded as one of the game's premier putters, will have the option to play as well as commentate at a number of events this season.
FAXON: "I'm very excited to join NBC Sports' golf team. There are not many network-TV positions, so I consider this an honor. I've been fortunate to have worked with Dan (Hicks) and Johnny (Miller) and the rest of the NBC Sports team in the past. I was always impressed with Tommy Roy and the production group. They are committed to putting on a great show every time. I'm excited about my dual role at some tournaments as commentator and player. I'm hoping that for at least one tournament I can walk off the course and right into the booth to provide a first-hand account on the players and the course. It should add an extra dimension to the broadcast."
