The Mayor's Episode with Susan Lucci, Who Plays Erica Kane Airs Wednesday, February 17

Next week "All My Children" will air two special episodes featuring appearances by City Council President Eric Garcetti (whose district includes Andrita Studios, where "All My Children" is taped) and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, airing on Tuesday, February 16 and Wednesday, February 17, respectively.

City Council President Eric Garcetti appears as himself in a scene with David Canary, who plays the role of Adam Chandler. His story has him in Pine Valley, meeting with Adam Chandler about the initiatives they're taking together to make Chandler Enterprises more environmentally friendly.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa also appears as himself, crossing paths with Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) at Confusion, the local hot spot that is owned in part by Erica Kane. The two will have a back story of having previously met at a charity event in LA the year before.

Both Garcetti's and Villaraigosa's appearances are in support of "All My Children's" new home at Andrita Studios and to welcome the show to Los Angeles.

"All My Children" celebrated its 40th anniversary on January 5, 2010. The program has successfully maintained its popularity and continues to be one of daytime's most compelling dramas. "All My Children" took home the 1998 Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series, the third time the show received this top honor, having also garnered the award in 1994 and 1992. In 2004 the show also received its third consecutive Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Writing, its third Writers Guild Award and its fourth GLAAD Media Award in March 2007.

Created by Agnes Nixon, "All My Children" premiered on the ABC Television Network on January 5, 1970, as a half-hour show; seven years later it expanded to an hour. Julie Hanan Carruthers is executive producer. "All My Children" is produced Los Angeles and airs Monday-Friday (1:00-2:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
