Dame Edna Everage, Star Of Broadway's "ALL ABOUT ME," Confirmed To Co-Host "THE VIEW," Live, March 25

GET READY POSSUMS because today, Bill Geddie, executive producer of ABC's Emmy Award-winning talk show, "The View," announced that Dame Edna Everage is confirmed to co-host the show live, Thursday, March 25 (11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, ET), a first for the international superstar. She will also perform a song from her new Broadway show, "ALL ABOUT ME: starring Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein." Mr. Feinstein is also scheduled to make an appearance.

According to her official website (www.dame-edna.com), Dame Edna is probably the most popular and gifted woman in the world today, a housewife, investigative journalist, social anthropologist, talk show host, swami, children's book illustrator, spin doctor, megastar and icon. With Olivia Newton-John, Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman, Dame Edna is one of a remarkable succession of female stars to emerge from Australia. A widow with three grown children, she spends her time visiting world leaders and jet-setting between her homes in Los Angeles, London, Syndey, Switzerland and Martha's Vineyard. She is the founder and Governor of Friends of the Prostate and the creator of the World Prostate Olympics.

On television she has appeared in the UK special "A Night on Mt. Edna" and on her talk show, "The Dame Edna Experience." Her last critically acclaimed Broadway show, "Dame Edna: The Royal Tour," received the Tony Award for Live Theatrical Event. She is also the celebrated author of three books, including My Gorgeous Life, which is currently being adapted for the stage and screen.

"ALL ABOUT ME: starring Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein" was written by Christopher Durang, Barry Humphries and Michael Feinstein. This is Dame Edna's third return to Broadway. Michael Feinstein last appeared on Broadway in 1990. "ALL ABOUT ME" is produced by Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel. The show is currently in previews, opening on March 18 at Henry Miller's Theatre in New York City.
