E! Announces Talent Deal With David Burtka

E! Entertainment announced a talent deal with David Burtka in which he will serve as correspondent for "E! News," as well as other programming initiatives, including participating in "Live from the Red Carpet" and E! Specials. "E! News," which features the most comprehensive celebrity and entertainment news coverage on television, will task Burtka with a wide range of responsibilities including interviews with today's most fascinating personalities, covering pop culture's biggest events and delivering up-to-the-minute breaking news. He will begin reporting full-time in January.

Burtka's varied background allows him to bring his own insider expertise to "E! News," and join the current team as they deliver the most comprehensive celebrity news coverage on television to entertainment fans around the globe. He began his acting career on the stage and in 2001 won the Clarence Derwent Award for most promising male performer for his role as The Boy in the American premiere of Edward Albee's The Play About the Baby. Burtka then made his Broadway debut in Edward Albee's TheGoat opposite Sally Field, followed by his acclaimed role as Tulsa in Sam Mendes' Gypsy starring Bernadette Peters.

Burtka made his television debut on The West Wing, and has also made appearances on CSI: NY, How I Met Your Mother, Steven Spielberg's On The Lot, and Crossing Jordan. Burtka has also appeared in the films, Regrets Only, A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, and Woody Allen's Hollywood Ending. Burtka graduated from University of Michigan and Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Pasadena, and owns a Los Angeles based catering company, Gourmet M.D.
