'FULL FRONTAL FASHION' Celebrates New York Fashion Week With Exclusive New Multiplatform Programming Starting February 8

Jan 27, 2010 - 12:39:54 PM

Starting February 8, Sundance Channel's fashion media brand FULL FRONTAL FASHION celebrates New York's Fashion Week with new fashion programming across all platforms.  The FULL FRONTAL FASHION website will premiere two new series - "Catwalk Countdown" and Douglas Keeve's "Dirty Denim".  It will also feature exclusive daily news reports from Fashion Week by FULL FRONTAL FASHION contributors Patrick McMullan, Lynn Yaeger and others.  On-air, FULL FRONTAL FASHION will kick off a week of fashion-oriented programming with the February 8 premiere of the series "Savile Row" and the US premiere of The Red Carpet Issue, along with world-class fashion documentaries.

"FULL FRONTAL FASHION is a fashion media brand that sets out to give audiences something new.   The world of fashion is filled with color - spectacular creativity, huge characters and dramatic stories. We look at this world from the pov of both insiders and outsiders, but always with a playful, sophisticated eye," commented Sarah Barnett, Sundance Channel EVP and GM.

Sundance Channel's FULL FRONTAL FASHION website (http://www.sundancechannel.com/fullfrontalfashion/) will have daily Fashion Week news - featuring up-to-the-minute postings about the shows, the parties and other events - from contributors including Lynn Yaeger, Patrick McMullan, Aya Kanai, Robin Sayers and Cator Sparks.  The website will also premiere two new original series, each offering a candid, insider's view of the art and business of fashion design:

* "Dirty Denim," is a five-episode web series created and directed by Douglas Keeve (Unzipped, Seamless).  Enormously profitable and extremely competitive, the high-end denim industry is fashion's equivalent of the Wild West, rife with stealing, copying, and espionage.  Keeve tells his story through the eyes of denim designers Chip and Pepper, charismatic, fun-loving identical twins who started their careers as teenagers selling tie-dyed t-shirts from the trunk of their car.  The series also takes an inside look at several other popular denim brands, including J Brand, Hudson Jeans, Serfontaine, Degaine and Henry Duarte.  "Dirty Denim" will premiere on February 8.

* "Catwalk Countdown" follows ten of the most exciting up-and-coming US designers as they get ready to show their NY Fashion Week collections, with exclusive video, photos and behind-the-scenes access documenting their creative visions and working styles.  The designers featured in this series are Chris Benz, Christian Cota, Cushnie et Ochs, Erin Fetherston, Lyn Devon, Robert Geller, Sachin and Babi, Shipley & Halmos, Thread Social, and Vena Cava.  "Catwalk Countdown" will premiere on February 8.

Sundance Channel will air a week of fashion-oriented programming from February 8-14 at 8:00pm et/pt.  Premieres include:

* "Savile Row" goes inside the best bespoke tailoring firms in the world - on and around this quiet street in London's elegant Mayfair district.   The first part of this three-part docu-series premieres on February 8 at 8:00pm et/pt and parts two and three air February 9 and 10 at 8:00pm et/pt.  "Savile Row" captures a milieu steeped in pride and tradition, where exquisite craftsmanship goes hand-in-hand with gentlemanly discretion.  Does this reserve succeed in today's robust fashion marketplace?  As we meet the tailors and their customers, the series explores the challenges facing Savile Row in the 21st Century - and how it is responding.

* The Red Carpet Issue looks at the transformation of the red carpet ceremony from a private event into a media phenomenon and multi-million dollar business.  With sharp insight and plenty of humor, The Red Carpet Issue considers the risks and rewards - for designers, stylists, media outlets and celebrities - of playing the red carpet game.   The Red Carpet Issue, which makes its US television premiere on February 8 at 9:00pm et/pt, is the latest documentary from Lalala Productions, France's leading producers of fashion programming ("Signé Chanel," "Habillees").

During this week Sundance Channel will also air some of the very best fashion documentaries and series including the ultimate Chanel documentary "Signe Chanel", in addition to Somebody Told Me About ...Carla Bruni, Seamless, Lagerfeld Confidential, Stefan Braun, Ralph Rucci: A Designer and his House and Jack Taylor of Beverly Hills.
