G4 Introduces New Reality Series "CAMPUS PD" Offering A Raw Look At College Life And Campus Law Enforcement In Action
For many students, college means being out on their own for the very first time and experimenting with new-found freedom; from parties with underage drinking to peer pressure and a false sense of invincibility. For college town cops, each school year presents a whole new set of challenges and adventures that often leave officers pulling more all-nighters than the students.
"Campus PD" takes viewers along for the ride with officers on duty to capture firsthand all the mayhem and excitement they take on night after night when student "fun" spirals out of control. The series premieres December 9 at 11PM ET/PT only on G4.
The series heads to five college towns across the country, including Tallahassee, FL, San Marcos, TX, Cincinnati, OH, Chico, CA, and Greenville, NC, and goes behind the scenes with police officers to give viewers an authentic glimpse at campus life and the measures they take to keep students safe. From checking in on late night parties and keeping the streets free of drunk drivers, to patrolling campuses at night to make sure students are safe after late-night study sessions, the officers are busy 24/7. Episodes also feature officers taking on student armed robbery, vandalism of campus property, shoplifting, indecent exposure and "hit and run" accident.
Each police department boasts a colorful cast of characters with unique backgrounds and big personalities who each bring their distinct styles to serving on the force. Officer Ben Newsom of the Cincinnati PD is popularly known as "The Hip Hop Cop" who prefers to be called a "peace" officer rather than police officer. Newsom is passionate about hip hop music and works as a DJ and Producer when he's not on the job. Viewers also tag along with Officer Jason Scott, known as "The Transformer," who is part of the San Marcos PD "Party Patrol," a special group tasked with breaking up parties. Scott has made it his mission to educate students in every encounter and do everything he can to inspire them to stay out of trouble.
Officer Felicia Mordica grew up in the projects of Tallahassee and is currently one of only a few females serving as an officer in her squad. She takes great pride in the way students seem to naturally open up to her during their run-ins. Officer Bartell Clemons is also a Florida native who attended FSU. Once torn between law enforcement and computer programming, he chose the latter and is today a decorated officer, having served on the force for more than 12 years.
"It's no secret that high energy police shows are very popular among male viewers. With 'Campus PD,' we join real police teams and head to college towns, where the students - and their everyday lives - will prove highly relatable to G4's core young male audience" said Neal Tiles, President, G4.
