May 15, 2009 - 1:28:22 PM

New Half-Hour Series Offers an Irreverent Look at the Week's Most Outrageous Web Moments and Hilarious Viral Videos

From the producers of E!'s hit series "The Soup" comes the new series "Web Soup," which gives G4 viewers their viral video fix in a fast-paced, no-holds-barred format.  Host Chris Hardwick offers a fresh look at the best - and worst - moments from the week's Internet mayhem and presents topical web videos and viral classics with sarcastic tongue-in-cheek commentary.  "Web Soup" debuts Sunday, June 7 at 9pm ET/PT on G4.

"G4 viewers are web-obsessed and this show brings the Internet to television in a way that's edgy and fun," said Neal Tiles, President, G4.  "Not only can Chris Hardwick dole out hilarious off-the-cuff commentary, he also possesses a deep knowledge of digital culture, which makes him the ideal host for 'Web Soup.'  We are excited to put G4's spin on this popular franchise."

Each episode of "Web Soup" is broken up into themed segments, including The Daily Upload, This Week in FAIL and Things You Can't Un-See, depicting the week's most shocking and side-splitting viral videos.  In addition, viewers get to know recurring characters who stop by to add to the fun as Hardwick basks in the glory of the web's finest productions.

Chris Hardwick is a popular stand-up comedian and gadget guy who serves as tech correspondent on G4's Attack of the Show.  His musical comedy duo Hard 'n Phirm has played numerous festivals including the Vancouver Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, SXSW in Austin and Coachella with the Comedians of Comedy.  He recently capped off a half-hour special, Comedy Central Presents: Hard 'n Phirm and has done stand-up with The Soup's Joel McHale.

Executive Producers for "Web Soup" are Edward Boyd, K.P. Anderson, Boyd Vico and Brad Stevens who developed the concept with Jay James, Senior Vice President, Development, Comcast Entertainment Productions and Laura Civiello, Vice President, Development, G4.
