Jul 12, 2010 - 2:29:36 PM

Mark L. Walberg Hosts CMT's New Viewer Dance Show Premiering Friday, July 23

Now fans have the opportunity to pay tribute to their favorite well-known dance routines from videos, television shows and movies in the new, ten episode series, YOUR CHANCE TO DANCE, premiering Friday, July 23 at 9:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT. Each one-hour episode, hosted by TV personality Mark L. Walberg, features five contestants putting their unique spin on popular video dance moves before a live studio audience, who then votes to determine which contestant will win the $10,000 prize.

"Our viewers are avid music fans and love to be entertained," said Claire McCabe, vice president, original programming and development, CMT. "This series gives them the opportunity to combine both music and dancing as they enjoy paying tribute to their favorite dance scenes from all formats. From Dierks Bentley's 'Sideways' to Rihanna's 'Umbrella' to the infamous dance scene 'You're The One That I Want' from the movie Grease - this show is all about viewers cutting loose and having a good time."

"YOUR CHANCE TO DANCE is ultimately a celebration of those memorable pop culture dances that we all love," said Phil Gurin, president of The Gurin Company. "We are pleased to partner with CMT again on a high-energy, family friendly, music-filled competition show."

Taped in Los Angeles, YOUR CHANCE TO DANCE features contestants competing as singles, couples and groups against one another as they pay tribute to well-known dance routines. These amateur dancers hope to prove to the studio audience that they deserve to dance away with the $10,000 prize.
