MSNBC Premieres The Second Series Of "DEAD MAN TALKING" - Sunday Nights At 10:00 PM In January

Dec 18, 2008 - 10:41:48 AM

MSNBC crews take viewers places where cameras are usually not allowed in the second series of "Dead Man Talking" airing on MSNBC in January. The 3-part series follows Dr. Daniel Spitz, chief medical examiner in Macomb County, Michigan, as he attempts to determine the cause of death in several unusual medical mysteries. From the scene of the crime to autopsies at the morgue, Dr. Spitz looks for secrets the dead leave behind in hopes of cracking each case that comes his way.

Hour one, "Trail of Blood" premieres at 10:00 pm ET on January 4th. In this hour, viewers learn about Cindy Zarczyki, a 13 year-old girl who disappeared in 1986, never to be seen again. The case went cold soon after her disappearance. However, years later, a detective working the cold case zeroes in on the stepfather of the girl's boyfriend. The stepfather, a convicted sex offender, is found guilty on circumstantial evidence, as the body has never been found. Just before the man's sentencing, the detective convinces him to lead authorities to the body. When bones are discovered, it becomes Dr. Spitz's job to determine whether they belong to 13 year-old Cindy and if so, what caused her death 22 years ago.

The second hour, "Final Exit," will premiere on January 11th at 10:00 pm ET. One of the cases explored in this hour is that of a 50 year-old man found dead at the bottom of a staircase, his head crashed through a wall. Did he die a natural death or was this a case of foul play? The third and final hour, "Eternal Neighbors," premieres on January 18th at 10:00 pm ET and gives viewers an insider's look at one very busy weekend in the Macomb County Medical Examiner's office. One of the four cases investigated in this hour is the death of Jihad Srour, a young father of four who took his family to the beach one summer day, only to end up drowning while going for a swim. Was it a straightforward drowning, or did he have a heart attack in the water? Either way, his wife wants to know: Where were the lifeguards? Why didn't they save her husband?
