O MUSIC AWARDS 2 To Pay Special Musical Tribute To Steve Jobs

Live Celebration To Kick Off At 11:30pm ET On October 31 On OMusicAwards.com And MTV

Viacom Music Group, a unit of Viacom Inc., announced a forthcoming special musical tribute to the late Steve Jobs as part of O Music Awards 2, http://www.omusicawards.com as well as the first performances and presenters. The live multiplatform event that celebrates the artists, innovators and fans impacting digital music culture will be livestreamed from an undisclosed location in Los Angeles on October 31st beginning 11:30pm ET/ 8:30pm PT on OMusicAwards.com. 

In a true multiscreen taker, the show opening will be broadcast on MTV. The event will utilize Viacom Music Group's multiple screens and made available across Viacom Music Group websites (MTV.com, VH1.com, CMT.com, LogoTV.com and MTVHive.com), as well as mobile. This cycle's nominees span multiple musical genres and decades and include a mix of established and up-and-coming artists.

In memoriam of Apple co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer Steve Jobs, O Music Awards 2 will feature a special musical tribute with an up-and-coming artist performing an iconic song to pay homage to his immense contributions to digital music culture.

"Steve Jobs had the restless soul of an artist, the critical thinking of the nerdiest engineer, and an appreciation of exceptional design," said Van Toffler, President of Viacom's Music & Logo Group. "His ability to marry entertainment and technology was breathtaking, the likes of which we will probably never see again."

The first performers and presenters announced for O Music Awards 2 will feature a mixture of emerging and established artists including Kelly Clarkson, The Band Perry, Demi Lovato, Mac Miller, Midi Mafia and DJ Diamond Kuts. In the coming week, Viacom Music Group will announce additional performances and presenters.

Since voting began on September 27, more than six million votes have been cast. Fans can continue to vote via the O Music Awards site, http://www.omusicawards.com.  The fan that drives the most votes will appear in the live show.
