Olympic Gold Medalist Kristi Yamaguchi Headlines Her Skating Special This Sunday On NBC

Weekend Programming Also Includes World of Adventure Sports

Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi headlines "Kristi Yamaguchi and Friends" with music provided by pop sensations The Backstreet Boys, from the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Ariz. this Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.

Skating stars appearing on the ice alongside Yamaguchi are two-time Olympic gold medalist Ekaterina Gordeeva, four-time World Champion Kurt Browning, Olympic bronze medalist Jozef Sabovcik and three-time U.S. National Champion Michael Weiss.

JEEP WORLD OF ADVENTURE, SATURDAY, 3:30 P.M.ET
NBC Sports presents the Emmy Award winning World of Adventure Sports, an action and adventure sports series, this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The show highlights an array of adrenaline-inspired feats and adventurous sporting events from around the world. Featured sports include the Unsound Pro/Am surf contest, the Red Bull Panama Surf Expedition, tanker surfers, ski jumping and the Artic Man Challenge.

The Unsound Pro is a Pro/AM Surf contest in NYC known for one of the highest purses on the East Coast. Teton Gravity Skiers head up to North Cascades National Park in Washington for ski jumping. The Columbia Sportswear Pioneers tanker surfers ride the fast-moving wakes of massive oil tankers in Galveston Bay where surfers enjoy up to six miles of high-speed, nonstop swell. The Arctic Man Challenge heads to Summit Lake in the Alaskan wilderness for a competition that puts world-class skiers and snowboarders against each other. Competitors will soar from a 1,700-foot drop to be picked up at the bottom, by a rapidly speeding snowmobile which will tow them 2 1/4 miles up a canyon at speeds approaching 90 mph before whipping them over a second huge summit into a 1,000-foot plus descent to the finish line. The Red Bull Panama Surf Expedition explores the untapped potential of the 200-plus islands of Panama's Caribbean archipelago.
