John Fogerty will perform music requested by the show's viewers and the live show will be broadcast from a soundstage in Los Angeles. The show is produced by Media Push Entertainment in association with PBS. LIVE BY REQUEST will air live Saturday, November 7, 2009, 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET on PBS as a special fundraising program for PBS member stations.

Fans can follow the build up to the live broadcast on all the major social networking sites, and join in by submitting requests and sharing Fogerty anecdotes by logging on to: twitter.com/live_by_request, facebook.com/livebyrequest and youtube.com/livebyrequest. From October 28 through November 2 on the LIVE BY REQUEST You Tube page, youtube.com/livebyrequest, fans can post their own videos of "cover versions" of their favorite Fogerty song; select entries will be considered for inclusion on the live broadcast. John Fogerty will answer questions previously submitted by fans on the Inside PBS Blog with his responses posted on October 29 at http://www.pbs.org/engage/blog/ask-john-fogerty. Live video requests during the broadcast only can be made via video chat and complete information on how to make song requests for LIVE BY REQUEST and additional information please visit http://www.pbs.org/livebyrequest/.

For more than four decades, John Fogerty has been an American treasure: one of the most revered and influential artists to emerge in the 60s, and still a vital part of the musical landscape. As lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of Creedence Clearwater Revival and as a Grammy-winning, chart-topping solo artist, Fogerty's sound has encompassed everything from blues to country and southern swamp rock and roll. Known as one of the greatest songwriters, singers and guitarists of all time, Fogerty was inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. With the recent release of The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again (Fortunate Son/Verve Forecast), Fogerty joyfully resurrects his mythical group. The New York Times recently noted in their review of Fogerty's free concert in New York City, "he still has the biting yowl and near yodel of his Creedence days in his voice, and his guitar parts are pure and chiseled: riffs, strums and a little chicken-plucking lead." Fogerty will join Bruce Springsteen in a performance at the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert to be held in NYC on October 29.

LIVE BY REQUEST is a live superstar concert event that redefines the music television experience and is controlled by fan interaction. It is the only television program where viewers actually create the artist's set list and have the chance to personally talk to their music idol. With the premiere PBS special, LIVE BY REQUEST will fully engage viewers across multiple media platforms for the first time via live interactive video requests, call-in requests and text, email and social network requests. LIVE BY REQUEST creates a unique connection between artists and fans.

LIVE BY REQUEST achieved critical and commercial success, airing from 1996-2004, while becoming one of the longest running live music series in broadcast history. During its eight-year run, LIVE BY REQUEST featured top musical guests in live performance representing a wide variety of musical genres, including Tony Bennett, Elton John, John Mellencamp, David Bowie, Gloria Estefan and Neil Diamond, among others. Tony Bennett, who appeared in the Emmy Award-winning series' premiere episode, is credited for the show's creative concept.

Danny Bennett, Executive Producer of both the original series and this PBS special event commented, "LIVE BY REQUEST is music television where anything can happen. The program presents music the way it should be - live and spontaneous with the fans participating alongside the artist. We are thrilled to have consummate performer and songwriter, John Fogerty, as our featured artist as this unique show returns to television."
