President And Mrs. Obama Host Civil Rights Music Showcase For Black History Month - Premieres Thursday on PBS
"In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement" is a concert in the White House East Room that will be broadcast by PBS. President and Mrs. Obama will host the event in honor of Black History Month. The sixty-minute program, to be taped live by WETA Washington, D.C., on February 10, will feature songs from the Civil Rights Movement as well as readings from Civil Rights-era writings. The program is part of the WETA "In Performance at the White House" series. Premieres Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 8 p.m. EDT on PBS stations nationwide (check local listings).
