Reality by the People, for the People: Fox Reality Channel Wants America to Make the Ultimate Voting Decision This Election Season with "Gimme My Reality Show!"
Fox Reality Channel, the only all-reality, all-the-time cable network, calls on America to vote during this year's election season with the premiere of its newest original series, "Gimme My Reality Show!" This Fox Reality Channel original adds another twist to their programming line up, as the contestants vie for their ultimate dream prize, their OWN reality show.
Hosted by George Gray, the series kicks off on Saturday, October 11, at midnight ET/PT. This follows the outrageous 2008 Fox Reality Channel Really Awards, making it the biggest night in reality television. "Gimme My Reality Show" is a Fox Reality Channel original series produced by Natural 9 Entertainment ("Fox Reality Channel Really Awards," "The Search for the Next Elvira").
The four-episode series pits reality stars AJ Benza, Traci Bingham, Gretchen Bonaduce, Kato Kaelin, Susan Olsen, Ryan Starr and Bobby Trendy against each other in a campaign to prove to America that they deserve to star in their own reality series.
"This election season we are thrilled to be giving Americans the vote in the most important election--who will win their own reality show," said Bob Boden, SVP, Production & Development, Fox Reality Channel. "Our viewers will enjoy the competition as our celebrities campaign against each other to become an even bigger reality star on Fox Reality Channel in Spring 09."
Through competitions involving building buzz for their reality show concept, each celebrity must creatively pitch themselves to the panel of expert judges that he or she has the most reality star potential. The judges, comprised of reality star Adrianne Curry, reality producer Scott Sternberg and TV journalist Michael Schneider, narrow it down to the final three candidates before putting the final decision in the hands of American voters.
The final three opponents will set off on the campaign trail to convince America to elect them by going online to foxreality.com or by calling 1-888-Show4 (01, 02, or 03) to vote for their choice from October 25 to November 1. Fox Reality Channel will announce the winner during the show's grand finale on Election Night, November 4, 2008. This will provide a viewing alternative for reality television fans who want a break from the seriousness of the political election coverage. The winner will receive his/her own four-episode original series to premiere on Fox Reality Channel in spring 2009.
