SUNDAY MLB ON TBS Returns with Multiple Appearances by the Yankees, Red Sox and Phillies
TBS announced the first two months of its "Sunday MLB on TBS" schedule for the 2011 season. The package, which includes match-ups on TBS every Sunday afternoon throughout the regular season, includes multiple appearances by the New York Yankees (May 1, May 8 and May 22), Boston Red Sox (April 3, April 17 and May 29) and the Philadelphia Phillies (April 10 and May 15).
The schedule will also feature a rematch of the 2010 ALCS when AL MVP Josh Hamilton and the Texas Rangers host Derek Jeter and the Yankees on May 8 at 2 p.m. (ET). Other highlights of the early schedule include:
* April 3: The "Sunday MLB on TBS" schedule gets underway with Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez and the new-look Red Sox taking on Adrian Beltre and the Rangers (2 p.m. ET).
* April 24: A NL showdown in historic Wrigley Field when the Chicago Cubs host the Los Angeles Dodgers (2:15 p.m. ET).
* May 15: The 2011 MLB Civil Rights Game will feature NL East rivals squaring off when Ryan Howard and the Phillies face Jason Heyward and the Atlanta Braves (TBA). The Braves also host the Phillies on TBS on April 11 (1:30 p.m. ET).
* May 22: Battle of the Big Apple featuring Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees hosting David Wright and the New York Mets (1 p.m. ET).
The network will also exclusively televise the 2011 MLB All-Star Selection Show on Sunday, July 3 and in October, TBS will once again provide exclusive coverage of all four MLB Division Series (DS) and the National League Championship Series (NLCS). The network will announce future games on its schedule coinciding with its selection windows. The games included in the TBS MLB package will be blacked out in each team's home television territory.
