Science Channel Announces A New Tuesday Night - WEIRD CONNECTIONS and DECONSTRUCTED
Beginning Tuesday, September 30, 2008, Science Channel is inviting inquisitive viewers to answer these questions and more with two fascinating new series. First up, from the producers of Science Channel's hit series HOW IT'S MADE, DECONSTRUCTED (9 PM ET/PT) offers an innovative look at the inner parts of everyday objects. Then, WEIRD CONNECTIONS (10 PM ET/PT) invites viewers to step within the curious world of cutting-edge, atypical science to see how unexpected discoveries lead to new technologies.
DECONSTRUCTED literally cuts everyday objects in half for an uncommon examination of the complex, hidden internal processes many people never think about. The series lifts the veil on the object's inner workings, explaining how each part functions in the overall operation of the device, gadget, machine, tool or piece of equipment. DECONSTRUCTED airs regularly on Tuesdays at 9 PM (ET/PT) profiling several items in each episode, including: barbecue grills, plasma screen televisions, microwave ovens, smoke detectors, dishwashers, lawn mowers, night vision goggles, soda fountains, telescopes, air conditioners, pianos and more.
WEIRD CONNECTIONS immerses viewers on a journey into the revealing, unusual and sometimes outrageous piece of the science world where logic and order need not apply.
It's a journey in which one peculiar experiment serves as a crucial catalyst in a chain of research leading to a surprising innovation that will forever change the way we live. WEIRD CONNECTIONS truly is a bizarre world where, in the name of science, researchers put a roach in the driver's seat of an electric powered vehicle; or use gravity-defying frogs to help mankind colonize Mars; or force locusts to watch "Star Wars" in order to help develop safer automobiles.
