On Wednesday, January 25th at 9PM ET/PT, CNBC's "American Greed" returns to the network's line-up for its sixth and longest season to date. The award-winning series examines the dark side of the American dream unveiling new cases of crime and the lust for power...shocking stories of the people motivated by greed.

The sixth season begins with the story of New York accountant Kenneth Ira Starr, infamous money manager to A-List stars like Sylvester Stallone, Uma Thurman, Wesley Snipes and Diane Sawyer. Desperate for his own fame and fortune, Starr siphons $30 million from his clients to buy his way into high society and live the glamorous life. Many say he did it all for love. Kenneth Starr divorced his sick wife and office manager, and married a seductive exotic dancer. He loses himself in his marriage and his empire built on lies crumbles.

This season of "American Greed" will take a look at other high-profile stories including a major league fraud that shocks the sports world; the story of hedge fund manager Raj Rajaratnam, cofounder of The Galleon Group, investigated for running one of the biggest insider trading schemes in U.S. history; a family of con artists who use corrupt card dealers, computer programs and concealed microphones to steal millions in a nationwide casino card cheating scheme; and a man who stole clients' money and broker their hearts in an adoption scam.

CNBC's "American Greed" is narrated by actor Stacy Keach and produced exclusively for CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, by Kurtis Productions. The season consists of 16 episodes and will air Wednesdays beginning January 25th at 9PM ET/PT. It will re-air the same night at 10PM ET/PT.
