TNT and Jerry Bruckheimer Explore the World of Undercover Cops In New Drama Series DARK BLUE, Starring Golden Globe Winner Dylan McDermott
This summer, TNT and executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer (the CSI series, Without a Trace) are taking viewers into the complex world of undercover officers in the exciting new series DARK BLUE, starring Golden Globe winner Dylan McDermott (The Practice). The series - which co-stars Omari Hardwick (TNT's Saved), Logan Marshall-Green (The O.C.) and Nicki Aycox (Supernatural) - follows the exploits of an undercover team of police officers so covert, many of their own colleagues don't even know they are involved.
DARK BLUE comes to TNT from Warner Horizon Television, with Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman (the CSI series, Cold Case), Danny Cannon (the CSI series, Eleventh Hour), Doug Jung (Big Love) and Rick Eid (Law & Order) serving as executive producers. KristieAnne Reed (Eleventh Hour) is co-executive producer. The series airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), following TNT's hit series LEVERAGE.
DARK BLUE takes place in the underbelly of Los Angeles, where criminals roam free under the veil of night or hide in the shadows of daylight. Wandering in and out of this seedy world is just another day at the office for Lt. Carter Shaw (McDermott) and his special undercover task force. They know, better than anyone, that to bring down a criminal underworld, one must first dive into its depths and get on the criminals' level.
Carter's team includes Ty Curtis (Hardwick), a recently married cop who struggles with juggling his real life and the relationships he has developed while undercover; Dean Bendis (Marshall-Green), a shoot-from-the-hip officer whose activities make fellow team members wonder if he has gone over to the other side; and Jaimie Allen (Aycox), a green patrol cop brought in because of her excellent skill in lying, especially when it comes to her own past.
As Carter and his team know all too well, being an undercover cop sometimes requires cutting ties - albeit temporarily - with those who mean the most. Adrift, isolated and frequently faced with circumstances that straddle the line between right and wrong, these undercover officers know that during these times, all that matters is loyalty to one's fellow officers and to the task of bringing down the bad guys.
