USA Network And RSA Films' Wyckoff Place Named Best Documentary At The LA Shorts Fest
Wyckoff Place, a short documentary chronicling the interactions of a diverse group of children from Brooklyn, has received the award for Best Documentary at the LA Shorts Fest, the largest short film festival in the world. The film, directed by Lauri Faggioni, is part of USA Network's Character Project, an ongoing artistic initiative with the mission to explore extraordinary people, from all walks of life, who make this country unique.
In Wyckoff Place, Faggioni introduces viewers to a group of children from a Brooklyn apartment building who spend their days playing together. Although the children each come from different backgrounds, they see each other not as strangers, but as friends. Through the lens of some of America's youngest characters, the short film offers a valuable lesson about open-mindedness, diversity, and the power of childhood friendships.
Character Project represents USA Network's consistent efforts to cultivate new voices and develop content opportunities. In partnership with RSA Films and Ridley & Tony Scott, USA commissioned seven talented filmmakers to create short films that explore the theme of American character through moving image. All Character Project short curated films are housed online in a digital hub at characterproject.usanetwork.com, and available via FOD, mobile platforms, syndicated widgets, and social media.
