VH1 and Sixthman Bring Music to the High Seas for the Ultimate Vacation Experience Hosted by 3 Doors Down
VH1 and Sixthman today announce VH1 Best Cruise Ever, the first-ever official VH1 entertainment cruise set to sail in 2010. This music festival at sea, hosted by 3 Doors Down, also features Lifehouse and Shinedown, and will set sail from Tampa, Florida to Grand Cayman April 15-19, 2010 on the Carnival Inspiration. An exclusive pre-sale for the cruise is available now through July 22nd at www.vh1bestcruiseever.com and tickets to the general public will be on sale starting August 3rd.
VH1 Best Cruise Ever will also include performances by special guests Finger Eleven and VH1's "You Oughta Know" artists Carolina Liar and SAFETYSUIT and several other artists. In addition to seeing these artists perform in a unique and up-close-and-personal setting, guests will enjoy VH1-themed onboard activities, contests and more.
VH1 Best Cruise Ever will feature full electric performances by the mega-rock force 3 Doors Down. The quintessential fivesome, hailed as "the thoroughly modern American band" (Billboard Magazine), is looking forward to hitting the high seas. Bass player, Todd Harrell says, "We're bringing all of our RockBand friends...it's gonna be a big party on the Caribbean!"
3 Doors Down are die-hard road warriors, whose decade-plus ascension has been firmly cemented into rock's record books. They have attained massive mainstream success with 15 million albums sold and seven #1 hits. The band tours constantly, but this will be the first time they host their own four-day boat bash.
"The 'VH1 Best Cruise Ever' is one more way for VH1's fans to experience the music and entertainment they love, " said Nigel Cox-Hagan, EVP, Creative and Consumer Marketing for VH1. "This experience will bring music lovers together for a high-seas festival packed with performances and lots of fun in the sun."
"We are excited to partner with VH1 to bring together communities of music fans for a vacation like no other," said Andy Levine, owner of Sixthman. "Fans will not want to miss the lineup of concerts and activities onboard combined with the unique flavor the VH1 brand brings to the table."
While watching non-stop music shows and engaging in unique artist interactions, guests can also enjoy all of the amenities and facilities aboard the "Fun Ship" Carnival Inspiration, which last year underwent an extensive multi-million-dollar refurbishment that saw the addition of a water park, adults-only retreat, resort-style pool and numerous other features.
"Carnival is far and away the most preferred and successful cruise line when it comes to hosting music festivals at sea which bring together artists and fans to enjoy intimate performances and other activities in a high quality, relaxing and fun vacation setting," said Cherie Weinstein, Vice President of Group Business Development for Carnival Cruise Lines.
Cabins for VH1 Best Cruise Ever are currently on sale and start at $799 per person based on double occupancy plus taxes and fees. For more information, go to www.vh1bestcruiseever.com.
