truTV Drives Home Auto Theft Messaging Thanks to BAIT CAR Sponsor Allstate
"This is an organic marketing alliance that will not only blend perfectly with messaging, but also communicate meaningful information to our viewers at home," said Katherine Johnson, senior vice president of Turner Entertainment promotions and marketing.
truTV will communicate Allstate messaging within the six featured episodes shot in Los Angeles. truTV and Allstate will develop three 30-second custom vignettes highlighting auto theft prevention tips based on information supplied by third-party resources. The tips will be featured in an isolated commercial pod followed by Allstate commercial adjacency. Allstate will also be featured in BAIT CAR episodes tune-ins and in-program graphics.
BAIT CAR is the popular series that shows what happens when real car thieves are caught in the act. As stolen vehicles continue to be used in violent crimes including homicides and armed robberies, many cities have formed Auto Theft Task Forces. Bait Cars - high-tech decoy cars, rigged with hidden cameras, microphones, and sophisticated radio tracking devices - are the tool of choice in the battle against auto theft. BAIT CAR takes viewers inside these unique and exciting police sting operations from the moment the car is stolen, to its tracking and pursuit, to the final takedown. Viewers will see the operation as it unfolds from inside the decoy car and from the perspective of the officers while they set up surveillance, track the stolen vehicle and arrest suspects.
Mark Wolper of The Wolper Organization serves as executive producer of BAIT CAR. Under the leadership of David Wolper and Mark Wolper, The Wolper Organization has been responsible for the creation of more than 500 films and won more than 150 awards.
